8th Asian Open Water Swimming Championship 2018

Asia Swimming Federation started its 2018 Events Calendar with the 8th Asian Open Water Swimming Championships which was hosted and successfully organized by Thailand Swimming Association at Bangsaen Beach Chonburi, Thailand from 24-25 February 2018.

More than 60 athletes from 10 Asian National Federations gathered and showcased their abilities competing for the top spots. In the end, Japan coveted a total of 8 medals followed by Hong Kong with 2 bronze and Chinese Taipei and Kazakhstan who went home with 1 medals each.

Men’s 5km

  1. Minamide Taishin (JPN)
  2. Nonaka Taiki (JPN)
  3. Cho Cheng Chi (TPE)

Women’s 5km

  1. Moriyama Yukimi (JPN)
  2. Kida Yumi (JPN)
  3. Wong Cho Ying (HKG)

Women’s 10km

  1. Moriyama Yukimi (JPN)
  2. Nikura Minami (JPN)
  3. Wong Cho Ying (HKG)

Men’s 10km

  1. Minamide Taishin (JPN)
  2. Nonaka Taiki (JPN)
  3. Khundyakov Vitaliy (KAZ)

The competition was supervised by Mr Ronnie Wong, AASF Technical Open Water Committee Chairman and was graced by Mr Taha Sulaiman Al Kishry, AASF Secretary-General, Mr Faisal Swar, AASF Hon Life Vice President together with other AASF and International Technical officials.
